Takeshi Honda, animation director of Evangelion and Studio Ghibli, will be at @Polymanga Lausanne on March 29-30. As Miyazaki's right-hand man, he celebrates his 40-year career at Polymanga, showcasing an incredible journey. From Evangelion to The Boy and the Heron, Nadia, Ah My Goddess, Millennium Actress, Animatrix, to Boro the Caterpillar. He will be in conferences and signings on Friday, March 29, and Saturday, March 30, at Polymanga Lausanne.

Mr. Honda is a celebrity in the animation world. For over 30 years, he has served as the animation director for major productions such as Evangelion 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo, Millennium Actress, or the Nadia series. At Ghibli, he contributed to Tales from Earthsea, Ponyo, and Boro the Caterpillar.

Takeshi Honda was born in 1968 in the Ishikawa prefecture. After starting at the Giga Workshop, he worked for the first time as an animation director on the TV series "Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water" (1990) at Gainax. He later contributed to "Millennium Actress" (2001) and "Dennou Coil" (2007) at Madhouse, and also worked for Production I.G and other companies. At Khara, he worked as the chief animation director on "Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo" (2012), and as an animator and character designer on "20min Walk From Nishi-Ogikubo Station, 2 Bedrooms, Living Room, Dining Room, Kitchen, 2mos Deposit, No Pets Allowed." (2014). For Studio Ghibli films, he worked on "Tales from Earthsea" (2006), "Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea" (2008), on the original drawings of the animated short film "Pan-ya to Tamagohime" (2010) shown at the Ghibli Museum, and as the animation director for "Boro the Caterpillar" (2018).

He is currently a member of Studio Ghibli and worked as the animation director on Hayao Miyazaki's latest film, "The Boy and the Heron" (2023).
